University of Guelph ski club

I'm in my first year at Guelph University and I've been talking to kids at other schools who have ski/board clubs wondering why we don't have one. I've talked to a few people here who have been dying to get a club going and was wondering if any students have advice or interest in starting one at the school. Glen Eden is super close to Guelph which has a pretty fun park and blue is less than two hours away so weekend trips are totally reasonable. I understand it would be a bit of a process to get it started so any advice would be appreciated I definitely am not familiar with the whole process but desperate to get out there with some good people. Most schools require a certain, pre-determined amount of students to sign a petition stating their interest to start. Here at UNH, we also need to find a faculty member who agrees with the idea and who is willing to put their name on the proposition. After that, it’s up to your schools Recreation department to discuss the budget and liability aspects. Check your website, I’d be surprised if there wasn’t any information there. If not, talk to someone in the Rec department!

Awesome response really appreciate it! I did some looking on our clubs and recreation section in our athletics department and it's just like what you explained I would need to get students to sign up showing their interest in the club then it will be reviewed by the departments to see the costs and risks associated with the club so I'll have to get on it

I go to Western and we got a ski club. You should organize one if you got the chance/time and if it doesn't already exist
