Modifying gloves?

So I picked up a new pair of gloves this season (the Oyuki Tamashii) and the cuff is awkwardly loose, and weirdly there's no way to tighten them beyond a totally ineffective zipper. Already wore them a couple days so I don't think I can return.
Seems like it could be an easy enough fix to sew on some velcro, but I'm not sure I wanna mangle a pair of gloves I just dropped over $120 on.

Anyone done this or something like it? Any advice?

Where'd you make the purchase? Some retailers will take them back if you're not happy with the design flaw.

This may sound dumb, but have you thought about bringing them to a seamstress or tailor? They probably would have no issue pulling apart the seam and altering it to be smaller and then restitch the seam back to factory.

Got em at Evo. Pretty strict "unworn" return policy but I'll send them a line, thanks.


Also yeah a seamstress/tailor would do it right! Solid option considering how bad my sewing skills are. Probably a little pricy but if I've put in this much what's a couple more bucks eh?

but yeah my suggestion without seeing them would be to add some velcro yourself, or if it's involved or important enough, use a tailor/seamstress like this guy said. good idea i think if they're nice gloves you're keeping for a while

Eh I've had gear repaired a few times and it was pretty cheap. I wouldn't expect any more than 10-15 bucks.

Thanks guys. Gonna try to take them by the wedding shop that does all of Fjallraven’s local repairs. They’d know tech fabric well and probably could avoid the bunching that would happen if I velcroed myself.

Don’t have a pic but I could task one. Basically there’s a seam at the bottom of the main part of the glove that’s good and tight, but nothing further down the cuff to tighten it other than a less than effective zipper. So it flares out. No bueno.

Evo reviews say this same thing. (actually it seems like you probably wrote the review) Anyways I'd talk to them at Evo. It sure seems like they must do some returns because they end up having used lightly clothes and stuff at their sales. Maybe they can just do an exchange or give you a credit so you can get something else. I'd just put the money towards something completely different and buy myself a pair of Kinco ski gloves with stretchy cuffs
