Replying to Help me overthink my next ski purchase
Background, in March I'm moving to San Diego and it's going to be impractical to keep my current 4-ski quiver so I'm downsizing to a park ski and a do-it-all ski. Ski #2 is getting inserts for Attacks and Kingpins so weight is somewhat of a priority, I don't want to go too much over 2000g. Powder performance is not a top priority, realistically my days of empty mid-week powdays are numbered. What I do want is a ski that can charge and perform well in variable conditions. I like progressive mounts and twin tips. Skis I'm considering:
Moment Wildcat 108- I'm a huge fan of the regular Bibby/Wildcat so this seems like a nobrainer. The main qualm I have is that my 116 Bibby's aren't the floatiest pow ski out there, they float well but I don't know how well a narrower model is going to ski deep snow.
Moment Wildcat- Maybe just say "fuck-it" and stick with ol'faithful. I used to daily my Bibby's and they were sick everywhere except really bad uneven snow which might unfortunately be conditions I'm stuck with as a weekend warrior.
Moment Deathwish- Split the difference between the 108 and 116. Never skied them before but I understand they're softer than the Wildcats which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Open to any other suggestions.
