Go pro hero 8 worth it?

I have the 7 black, not sure if the upgrade is worth it. I could sell my 7 to a friend for 200$ so it would make sense but the changes they made to the 8 don’t sound that great. Like the irremovable lens, kind of a deal breaker. I do love editing so better quality is a big deal. What do you guys think? Thanks

if you're remotely serious about filmmaking anything after the Hero 6 is irrelevant, and the Hero 8 is a massive step backwards without the ability to pop off the lens and replace with NDs. IMO keep your 7

Just stick to the 7 man. The hero 8 looks good and all but it has a hefty price. The 7 already has hypersmooth so that’s good enough. The “hypersmooth 2” stuff is just marketing to make it look more appealing. I have the 7 black as well and it works great and takes great videos.

How good is the hypersmooth or is a gimbal necessary?

There are over lens nds that work well tho
