Here’s what my shins look like after a hard day of skiing...
Does anybody else experience this?! They’re new boots that were fitted to me, with heat formed footbeds... and I’m not exactly sure what’s causing the bumps. They hurt pretty good when pressure is applied to them but if there’s nothing touching them they don’t hurt. Anybody know what’s up?
Wnen this happens to me and I always foam roll the area, take an ibuprofen, and then hop in a cold bath or shower and then when I get out I wrap it with a tensor band for like an hour and its perfectly fine. Ibuprofen isnt necessary but if its bad it will help. When I do this it always goes away within a day
After a whole day hiking the bonezone this preseason i took my boots off to find not just that all the hair rubbed off there, but the skin too in that same spot! That was a first too, it lightly scarred over, but yeah, no ideas as to why that happened. Didnt feel it all while shredding.

I mean.. yea it’s shinbang, but does shin bang ever mean large lumps on your shin?! It was always just pain and soreness, never swelling for me until now

I've only gotten shinbang a couple times before I got booster straps and improved my form, but when I did, the one time I had significant swelling. I literally thought I had a minor leg fracture it sucked so bad. You cause enough trauma anywhere and you'll get swelling for sure.

Yeah, could be shinbang. It’s usually caused by the skier being too far in the backseat and the skiers shins repeatedly slamming into the tongue of the boot. If you can, try to really emphasize staying forward.
