Products that have had a significant impact on skiing: Salomon 1080, Steep Tech, Look Pivot, etc.
List examples and describe why you think they have had an impact on skiing?
High speed chairlifts. I get spoiled at the bigger resorts like Brek and Keystone, but if you go to a smaller area that isn’t on a mega pass then you see how nice you have it. Every now and then I’ll chat with someone on the lift who skiied in the 70s and 80s and they usually say that most of your day was waiting in line, due to the lift speed and capacity.
Mass snow making operations come to mind as well. On bad snow years like the 2017-2018 season in Colorado skiing wouldn’t have been available until late December early January.
There are a lot of obvious answers but I thought I'd shine light on one not so obvious piece of technology. Ross Imburgia is the lead engineer on the Tetra Ski project through the U of U and the product they've designed, built and developed is pretty incredible. They created a sit-ski for para and quadriplegic people that can be either controlled/turned by a joystick, or by breathing into a tube positioned in front of their mouth. It's been pretty crazy to hear him talk about it over the years and see the product keep getting better, and he definitely deserves some recognition for it since that type of thing typically does not receive much coverage on this website. Most revolutionary thing in skiing is ex racers who don’t admit their true ski roots and down-play that shit every chance they get and do it IN ALL CAPS SO YOU KNOW THAT THEY POSSIBLY FROM THE STREET BUT NOT REALLY JUST SPOILED ROTTEN BY RICH PARENTS AND GET DEFENSIVE BOUT HOW RAW TWIN TIPS ARE AND HOW LAME SKI RACING IS EVEN TGOUGH IT PROVIDED THOSE INDIVIDUALS WITH IMPECCABLE START ON SKIS PROVIDING ALL THE GROUNDWORK FOR THEM TO EVEN BEGIN DOING TRICKS IN THE FIRST PLACE
This reminded me how much I've always wanted that skibfor my collection and found this review on blister that has the verbatim manual that was sold with the spatulas. It's a solid read on how to ski pow and worth the read for sure https://blisterreview.com/gear-reviews/volant-spatula-2002-2003
Also most revelutionary? Probably the 1080, the pocket rocket, Gore Tex, and snow making.

Snowpants with bibs or suspenders need ass flaps. Dont you hate going to take a shit halfway down the GS course only to have to fumble with your suspenders? If you had a simple flap in the back it'd be so much easier to drop a turd next to the gate and hurry to the trees and watch the next zoomer get specialty brown wax on his precious sticks.
