Hey, picking up the Bentchetler 100. Looking for opinions on where to mount. Rip all mountain while still retaining playfulness. Seems to be most are mounting forward of recommended line.

freeskibum82I had gone with +4 but in any sort of powder snow they would dive. If i were to mount again i'd go recommended if you are not going to be in the park all the time on them.
.nastyAfter skiing the ski a lot and talking with reps about it's design, it's interesting that while it looks like it'd be a super playful jibby all mountain ski, it really isn't. I'm not saying you can't be playful on it but it's actually quite a bit stiffer than most think. It also has no tail rocker and only tip rocker, so it's rocker/camber profile is actually quite directional.
Honestly I wouldn't recommend going more than +2 or +3 from rec on that ski with this in mind, I think I was told even Benchetler himself skis them at +3. Even the +6 mark on that ski isn't center after measuring (to put it in perspective), it's like -1 from center just about. If you want a more center mounted all mtn ski, I'd look elsewhere. It's not that it can't be done but it wasn't really designed for it quite as much.
