SkiBum.I have 1 ski. I use it for both AT and in bounds skiing.
First of all, fuck off. I’m sure you’ve never been on a tour in your life.
Second of all, fuck off
jackjrode the chair with a guy with pin bindings the other day. about to buy my first touring setup and was curious about skins so asked him about this, and he didn't know what I was talking about. I'm fairly certain he'd never toured a day in his life.
soupIf I see another dynafit speed setup on resort with those bullshit little buckle tethers I'm going to puke. Or the guy who has the entire Salomon catalogue on his body from head to toe. If only ski shop employees made commission.
Titus69I see so many people skiing on pins at park city and it seems like its their daily ski, lots of shifts which are whatever but i have seen so many DPS's with pins this week at work, waiting for someone to come in asking why they keep ejecting.

DrZoidbergBecause young 30ish software dev couples without a kid have a lot of disposable income and instagram says the outdoorsy lifestyle is cool. Same thing happened in surfing but with rich pseudohipsters. $1000 9' single fins, super cool resin tint etc, no leash cause they're too cool for that. But they somehow can't catch a wave or even ride the thing. Certainly looks sweet in insta photos though.
ahshitNothin like cruisin up w my daymakers past a couple jerries that can't figure out how to align their pins.
Also fuck pins me and my alpine bindings go everywhere

DingoSeanTo be fair I rock my TSTs with kingpins inbounds all the time... especially on side country half tour days.. but never at ski areas with shit sidecountry
wont catch me dead inbounds on my peakbagging setup tho... unless I’m using the chair as hiking access..

DPSs, scarpas, pins and the rest of the gear reminded me of my youth.
BdoobzForget the skis, what's that guy going in front. A monoski that you stand sideways on? Weird.
OhJayI ski Pivot 18s even though I ski at din 8, don’t throw down in the park or get sendy off cliffs.

soupThe worst is that 100% of the time they will bash you for using daymakers in the parking lot, but you'll out skin them and for sure out ski them.
pbsthats the shit that gets me, i have marker frame bindings on some old armadas and resort boots, and the amazon workers from Seattle with dps and the full dynafit kit always quip, "i see you've brought the whole kitchen with you" or some bull shit remark. Then you see them skiing and they are wedge christying and back seat thinking they look like Cody Townsend. I mean Jesus Christ just go skiing and enjoy your walk in the woods, stop comparing sock weight
Monsieur_PatateI don't understand the ultralight trend unless you're competing. Personally, I like the workout touring gives me, so I'm all for extra weight, it just makes the workout more challenging and helps me getting the legs I need to charge on the way down, win/win.
