Higher DIN in pow?

b0ssI cant say i recommend but my personal preferance is 10 in front and 12 in heels.
But I ski fast, and im not shitting u by fast I mean no one has been able to keep up with me in years. My fast skiing speed is probably caused by lack of mental health tho and it is wreckless buttt. Im 6ft 160 pounds and 20yo and 12 got me fuckin prematurely ejecting all the time.

finderHad my dins on 9 when I was like 5'4" and 140lb with a 301 bsl. Now 5'7" 155lb and 297bsl, Pivot 18 dins on 11 toe, 12 heel. My kingpins are set at 10, though I might lower them cause I've had a couple falls where one ski ejects and the other refuses to, sending all the energy to one leg.

Your leg strength is also pretty relevant in your knees ability to withstand forces. I'd argue muscle mass distribution is as relevant as total body weight. People I know who play a lot of hockey and ski tend to either eject more or ride with higher dins, probably from being used to pushing energy to a more concentrated platform with a lot more grip and a lot more acceleration/direction change.

You know the limits of your own body more than a standardized chart, though the chart gives you a really good starting point. I've always adjusted my dins incrementally, keeping them on the safe side until I'm sure I can handle an increase in retention. If you're skiing in no fall zones where knee injury is less of a risk than getting hucked off of a cliff on to rocks, then that's a bit of a different story.

Don't crank your dins cause your buddy likes their bindings at that setting! I am not a certified shop tech, and of my 18 years skiing, I have only started mounting and adjusting my own bindings in the past 5. If you have any doubt, get your shit checked out by a shop.

LonelyI run Pivot 28s. I go 27 on the heal of the left ski, 23 on the heal of the right ski, 6 on the toe of the left ski and 14 in the toe of the right ski.

so the problem is i can bomb groomers and crust all day without any release problems, 8.5 is perfect. But in deep pow my skis keep catching. I’ll hit a cliff and double eject upon landing. Now I’m really paranoid when I’m skiing cause I feel like I’m about to release.
Is it a form thing or does my din setting seem too low?

HYP3R_REAL1TYI should of added they are set up perfectly. I made sure the afd is set with a business card, while making the boot do a wheelie in the binding. The forward pressure is perfect, with 3 notches in the binding housing and three out of it.
