Background info-
I use to ride full tilt TW pros in 26.5, but switched when I saw I was starting to show signs of heel spurs developing. I switched to the Krypton pros in 26.5, and have used them the past few seasons. They are ok but I feel that they are a little bit too big for me. It seems that I need to crank the middle buckle super tight to keep my heel locked when going big, but this also causes my feet to go to numb. I ordered a pair of Hawx Ultra 130s in a 26.5. These boots feature a 300 mm bsl which is very close to the TW pros that had a 301.
Specs-
5'9 185 pounds. feet measure 26.8cm and 27 cm. with 26 instep. I mostly ride park, but like to ski trees/powder when out west.
I like the dalbello il moro boot design for everything minus the middle buckle placement. I feel that if they angled this buckle to just pull your leg back rather than down and back they would be the ultimate boot.
The hawx ultra 130s has a wider heel pocket that is also not as deep as the dalbello. This is worrying me as far as how they will perform considering I have small heel and ankles.
What are your thoughts on this? I do not live near any decent ski shops that I would trust to do anything with my equipment. Nor do they carry any considerable selection of boots. Other ideas Ive had is just ordering a pair of technica Cochise 130s in a 25.5 due to the fact that they are a 300mm bsl, and utilizing the 7 dollar free return on evo if they aren't what im looking for. Anyone have any experience with hawx ultra or technica Cochise 130?
