Magnus 102 Length?

I know just what youre thinking, "Hooray another ON3P question thread!" but hey these skis don't come cheap so I wanna get it right.

Im torn between the 176 and 181 length for the Magnus 102. I'm 5'9" (maybe 5'10' on a good day) and around 145 lbs. I ski on the east coast mostly on piste with a fair amount of narrow trails and tight glades. I currently ride ARV 96s in 177 and 2016 Line Sir Francis Bacon in 178. Both skis feel pretty decent length wise for what I do but I'm wondering if the famed ON3P rocker should play into my decision. I did the instant message on their website and they said based on my height I'm a 181 but based on weight I'm a 176. I know its not a huge difference but I'm probably gonna get customs so I wanna be sure about the length since I won't be able to return/exchange.

tldr: 5'9", 145 lbs, moderately aggressive east coast skier. 176 cm or 181 cm Magnus 102

I'm 5'9 and I have 181 Magnus 90s. very stable and nice and good

Get length 179 Surface Outsiders, great 112 underfoot ski that can handle anything! Really cool triplane rocker but short effective edge so you can swerve hella. Also with the crazy rocker you can butter easily, charge hard, AND have a stout flex! Would totally recommend

You feel like you’re able to whip them around easy enough still? I wanna do some swervein on them

I'm gonna go against the results here but if the ARV and SFB length felt good...I'd lean 176cm. You are light. 176 M102 going to be touch longer than both the Armada in 177 and SFB in 178 and, though more rockered, stiffer than both if I recall (I don't get to see many other brands skis these days).

If you get em in the mail and decide you want to go long/shorter, can always just throw them back in the box and send em back to exchange for another size.

Thanks man! I think I’ll take your advice, seeing as you probably know best haha.

Is the exchange policy the same for customs? I don’t want the park detune so I was gonna order custom magnus 102s with just the factory tune and I assumed I wouldn’t be able to exchange them since they’re custom

Yes if going custom please do be sure before you order. If the only change you want is no park detune, see if we can just flag an in production ski for you.
