Traveling Circus Needs Your Help!

Dear Skiers of NS,

First off, thank you to anyone who has ever watched our videos. At the start of TC, we never could have imagined coming this far and we couldn't have done it without you! TC viewers paying extra close attention over the last season may have noticed the absence of a key player in our series...

Unfortunately, after eight years of faithful service, the Traveling Circus Van has broken down once and for all. We were lucky enough to inherit the original TC Van used, as a free hand-me-down(a once in a lifetime opportunity). We did our best to use it to it's full potential and not take it for granted.

The van visited more than 100 ski resorts across North America and was instrumental in allowing us to produce 61 free episodes of skiing entertainment. It delivered free gear and pizza as part of Tell a Friend Tour from West Virginia to Canada. It visited summer camps in Colorado, California, Oregon and British Columbia. It was skied on, over, off and through. The van died with grand total of 283,482 miles.

As the season starts up, we need your help raising money to get a new van and keep the good times rolling (pun intended). While it was, and always will be a goal to never directly charge money to watch our episodes, we are now asking for your support in crowdfunding a new (used) TC Van.

If the van is funded, @djikstra let's us know how many times Aliens have actually come into Earth's airspace as near as his sources at NASA can estimate.

Maybe do a raffle style thing for anyone who donates over a certain amount on some sick skis

Trick Call Outs!

Make it a little more expensive (like $50) so you dont get overburdened with stupid requests. You could even make a whole episode or a mini-ep out of it.

I'd A LOT to see @djikstra land the snowboard double backflip...

1) The Van is for the crew(Andy, myself and Jake will buy it and use it for TC, it will officially be in my name), not for Line Skis use or for any company above them. We have agreed to continue Line covering all fuel, maintenance, repairs, tires, and insurance. In exchange for covering the van operational costs, we will include modest Line logos in the graphics our crew will create(we will also involve the community in this design process).

2) Line can't pay for all the other costs associated with TC(paying athletes/organizers/travel/filming/editing/van operational costs), their entire team and other video projects, plus a new van. We got lucky, the original van was a hand me down.

3) We tried to offer entertaining rewards to the portion of the skiing community who is down to pitch a buck or two for 61+ episodes of skiing weirdness. More will be added soon. If that's not for you, no worries, watching TC and other videos Line sponsors(Level 1, Nimbus, Good Company, Strictly, etc..) is still supporting and we really appreciate it!

4) There was never a lot of money in the video side of park/street skiing, but we're doing our best to keep entertaining content flowing because it's what we enjoy doing. We are proud to be backed by Line for TC and to be part of a long lasting legacy of supporting ski videos. From the start of Freeskiing as we know it(late 90's) till today, Line has arguably supported more freeskiing videos, edits, and projects than any other brand, many of them being available to watch for free online.

Troy.I love the Traveling Circus homies and none of this frustration is aimed at them, but since this is getting crowdfunded, will it be renamed The People's Traveling Circus?

Well at least I already worked out the new logo. I think the hammer should be replaced with a ski, perhaps.

Have you guys tried working? Like actually grinding away for a summer to raise funds for a new van. As much as I love watching you guys and think the whole TC vibe is great and unique, I can't help feeling you're taking advantage of the platform you have and just asking for money. I know you have created lots of "free content" over the years but thats marketing. Line have paid you guys to drive/fly around the world to ski. A dream for most of us.

Pretty sure they're already working when they arent skiing just to get by...so I'm not sure purchasing a van on top of just scraping by is realistic

You musta missed the episodes where I'm working at Ruby Tuesdays, Pizza hut, servings at Timberline lodge, and weed whacking. Want to be a pro skier? Get a job. I dont think that gets said enough.

Donate or dont. Both are cool with me. We aren't trying to force people to donate, or leverage our modest (at best) fame in a niche sport, of a niche industry.

We’re 1/3 of the way there at $11,000 of $30,000. The TC videos get more views on YouTube and also have a good social media following. Maybe post for funding on those outlets too?

Special name color for 20 bucks to the van or something idk, gonna be real sad if they cant make the goal. Just looking for options to raise some money. Hell plug the site with extra ads and put the revenue towards the van, give us incentive to give some money so they reach the goal and we can go back to normal amounts of ads.
