Bend 95mm FKS brakes to fit Armada Tracer 108?

How wide could FKS brakes be bent to fit a fatter ski (Tracer 108)? Got conflicting opinions from a few different local shops from "shouldn't be a problem at all," to "no way that would work" Anyone out there running a setup with 95mm brakes on a ski as fat as 108mm?

thats a pretty big stretch from the sounds of it
it might be able to work tho
bring it into a professional to do it tho

FKS brakes are the easiest to bend so you can definitely make it work. They might stick out a little and you run the risk of catching them especially if you ski switch.

All day. But use a ski pole and cut it about 6 inches from the bottom of the grip and put the brake in and use the custom brake bender

Those are going to have to be bent so far out. Get brakes that fit. I had 85s I was going to put on 98s but it would have had to be so badly bent it would have dragged when I leaned them over.

They’ll bend back. If you do this plan to keep bending them every time you ski.


Brakes that fit would be best.

Honestly, they will likely fit. We're considering starting to recommend it on our 108 skis. They are just wide enough to fit over a Jeffrey 108. Sometimes you have to just sort of give it a big of a pull and you're good.

As a rule right now, we put people 102 and below on the 95, but are talking about moving that to 108.

I don’t know if I’d ever feel inclined to throw fks on a tracer.. Or any alpine binding for that matter

That was my first question, what's the point of grabbing Tracer's then?

You can do it, that’s only 6.5 mm either way. I’d be sure to do a good job though, like someone else said either have someone good do it or use a good tool for it

108 is about my limit for a 95 pivot brake. I have some on a 108 ski myself now, it’s fine and always functions correctly.
