Camera Pack

Profahoben_212Welp after too many head hits I am not allowed to get after it too hard anymore. So its time to get back into photography.

I'm looking for some personal recs on a new pack to ski resort/BC with and hold my camera/lenses safe and sound. Currently looking at the f-stop tilopa but 50l sounds a little large for everyday resort use. Would you guys recommend going down to an ajna or lotus for my purpose?

The Lotus is fucking awesome, real easy to organize everything and it feels very low profile. Highly recommend

Can it fit avy gear? Not the biggest deal I suppose if not...I can always just take my camera and an extra lense in my normal Backcountry pack.

Check out The Mindshift packs. These are slept on big time. I was fortunate enough to grab a pack from them and I have been super impressed with it so far. I use the Backlight 36L and its great. They make some smaller ones as well that would be great for shooting resort stuff. I work primarily in the mountain bike industry, but I have a big winter project this year, and im excited to put this pack through the ringer

I use the Lowepro Whistler 30L and it is a great pack for day trips or single night out in the back country. Enough to carry a dslr, 2 extra lenses, filters etc. but also still have room for all your avy gear and an extra layer. On the resort side I can fit in my camera setup and Ronin perfectly, and just leave the bag up top while I'm carrying my gear. 30L is on the big side if you are actually going to ski with it, and my biggest recommendation for the resort would be to just get one of those shoulder strap bags that carry camera+lens and just run and gun with it.

The F-Stop Tilopa is my daily camera bag and I highly recommend for skiing. You'd be surprised how quickly 50L fills up, especially if you're out for a long day or doing anything in the backcountry. More often than not, I wish I had a bigger bag (or a bigger ICU). Yes, skiing with a heavy bag can be tiring, but that comes with the territory. Some of the raddest dudes I know are those that shred end of day laps with 60lbs of gear on their backs.

Alt view: If you're shooting mirrorless/small body and single lens, Tilopa is probably overkill. However, for multiple bodies + multiple lenses, I wouldn't go any smaller than 50L.
