Replying to Spinal cord injuries- discuss

Anyone ever had one? Know someone with one?

I just happened to turn on HBO and there was a special on it. Really really weird because I happened to be thinking today what I would do if I ever became quadriplegic. It was really inspiring to see these people still getting at it and changed my perspective a bit. It really is a miracle in itself to survive an spinal cord injury.

It also is a somber reminder of how fragile we are and how easy it is for this to happen especially in the sports we participate in. Land the wrong way and your ski/bike/surf/whatever career and maybe your life could be over, and I'm not speaking figuratively. These sorts of injuries seem to get forgotten about by the general population and that's a shitty fact. Hopefully one day it won't be such a permanent thing.
