Hi guys, when I'm skiing all over the mtn I've never had pre-release with my bindings. But when I'm practicing nose presses on flat I would just get ejected from my bindings. Type 3 skier 170cm/80kg with a 8 DIN. Is my problem with the DIN being too low or am I pressing the skis in the wrong area or wrong way? Any advice appreciated! Cheers.

I'm 95kg riding at 8 and have no problems. I use to use to lose skis everywhere. I realised was kinda crossing tips slightly causing it to lever itselft off super easy.
I'd move up to 9 and see if it works (definitely check forward pressure first tho). I weigh about 10 kg less than you and run 8, might move up this season if I have issues because I'm aiming to go a lot bigger in cliffy areas where I don't want to fall. General DIN charts are not designed for butters, you will need to go 1 or 2 higher than recommended.

Yea, I dont want to just crank up the din when skiing everywhere else is fine. I posted a photo of my forward pressure, seems to be right in the middle. You think a "higher/tighter" forward pressure will resolve my issue?
DominatorJacquesYou may need to go into the serious leg breaking DIN zone with the heel piece. Do you really want to take that kind of risk?
For sure not..hence this post :) Wanted to see if anyone is experiencing the same thing or had the same problem before.

Yea, I don't really understand how DIN is calculated when my frnd 70kg me 81 and you 95 all at 8DIN..but being me and dont want to risk any knee injuries...I just stick to the DIN chart.

Thanks for the input! I've moved up from 6 to 8 over the years, but I've never went over the recommended DIN setting. Do you think a "higher/tighter" forward pressure might help this situation? Right now it seems to be in the middle.

I fooled around with my bindings before knowing what was what .... had same problem as you, identical , turns out I had tampered with the forward pressure , Didn’t know I had , this also led to my one ski ejecting on spins
my dins are now at rec and no problems after ski shop adjusted forward pressure this was on attak13 bindings
Similar question. Today I landed a cork 5 leaning to far forward and my brake broke. My guess is my heel lifted up and the brake came down enough to catch the snow and rip off. This has happened to my pivots too

I don't think anybody who actually skis semi-hard has ever went a full season using pivots and not mangled their brakes.
Pivots are the worst for it but broken brakes happen a lot on switch ejections

Yea, I have the atk13s too as well. But I have never played around with forward pressure and was just what the ski shop had it set at (shown in photo), does yours look the same? It seems to be right in the middle.

BigPurpleSkiSuitI'm 6'4 190 lbs and I ski attack 13s on a 9 din it's almost certainly your forward pressure since I can nose press and butter without them popping.

cant tell what my fwd pressures at but here’s a pic I could take another if it helps ?
my left ski only used to eject on spins and butters now it’s good
Din 8 does sound low for a 180lb skier if they're fully competent at skiing and are doing tricks. I'm 160 and ride at 9 and haven't yet had issues with them not releasing when they should. Although if I was skiing only park I'd put them at 8 and if I wasn't doing any park I'd put them at 10.
If your forward pressure is set right and you frequently release when you don't think you should be then I'd put them up a tiny bit.

TOAST.Make sure that nothing is broken on the binding. I had issues with PX12 and the track cracking so forward pressure looked fine but really wasnt.
I see, will def take note. Looking from the outside nothing seem to be broken.
