skidemon22CT 5.0 is flat camber, where as the CT4.0 has some camber underfoot. Both have a Pachaco and Balsa wood core. This will be different than your 2017s. Those were Balsa w/ flax, I believe.
I think the 5.0 is a better high-speed ski, it feels stiffer and better made, but that's maybe because we're producing it a different factory than the 4.0. I use the 5.0 a lot in all conditions, and I love it :)

The Revolt is a solid ski, fun for doing a bit of everything in the backcountry... it's a pretty solid ski but the CT 5.0 is much stiffer and chargier. I think it sounds like probably you'd be best off going for the latter, but I have skied both so check out the review and I'm down to try and answer any other questions you might have.
