So for the trail maps, Haunted valley is the back of the front side and middle earth is to the right of Bear den. Little Boho is hike access off the parking lot.

I've never had to wait in lines on weekdays at boho and the only time you'll see "increased traffic" is if it's a killer pow day and a bunch of Tech students skipped class to come ride. Depending on whether they are only running one lift during the week and how many shuttles they are running you might have some waiting due to that situation.

In regards to winter camping it gets real fucking cold up here in the Keweenaw. Wind is a huge issue since the Keweenaw Peninsula sticks straight out into Lake Superior. Boho is offering some shifts working as a bartender or other jobs in return for free lodging so that's an option. Also staying in their hostel isn't too expensive. They aren't the biggest fans of car camping in their lots but it happens.

There are some cool areas to go skiing all around the Keweenaw. Most would be hard to find without someone familiar with the area guiding you. I'll see if I can't find a good topo map and link it here. No chance of any avalanches, only danger is how remote everything is.

Bear den is the area of cut out, but still not groomed, runs around the double lift. The more playful area imo.

Skiing was pretty dope compared to anything in the midwest, if you're willing to work a little you can get fresh tracks from the lifts pretty much all day. Lots of little cliffs hidden back in the woods. Got dumped on all weekend, so maybe we were lucky?
I went on President's day weekend, maybe 2-10 people queued up at the lifts each time, unless the lifts broke down.
Strongly recommend not staying in the hostel. Past experiences at other hostels were great, theirs is pretty gross. Reeks from the hot tub/lodge upstairs. And when my brother and I rolled in around midnight they had given our bunks away. So that sucked....
Them pitching the hot tub and pool as a "Nordic Spa" on their website is fucking hilarious!
