Replying to Repairing holes in ski boots....
I just ran across an old thread about a guy who had a pair of boots that was heat pressed out so much that it pushed through the shell. Most skiers will never have this delima but I have these feet that are size ee width and there is no high performance/racing boots made for wide feet so I have 2 options,
either get foot surgery, NOT! or get proficient at heat punching my own boots. I have a pneumatic tool that was made specifically for this purpose and a commercial heat gun..
Anyway, I have punched out boots to the point that they went through the boot.
The repair....line the inner shell with a porous fiberglass mesh, tape mesh with wide tape, use a 'flexible' epoxy and flow the glue over the hole. more layers may be required.
