mounting skis

Obviously I'm going to take my skis to a shop. But, I was wondering if any of you guys who work in a shop could tell me how it's done. Do you predrill the holes, or do you go straight in with the screws? Just wondering.

Adjust jig to boot. Put jig on ski. Drill holes. Remove jig. Screw in screws. Set din. Set forward pressure.

easy explanation: You get the jig, size it to the boot, then mount the jig center at whereever you want your bootsole center(or toe mount, like the old K2s and some Volants), then drill the holes, then screwshoot the bindings in. So, yes, you pre-drill the holes.

is there any kind of adhesive or glue type substance used? my friend got his mounted at a shop at the mountain he went to and they told him he couldnt ride them for a day so that the glue junk could adhere or something like that.

there is glue used in the predrilled holes, and it is a good idea to let it sit, if you ski em right away, youll press the glue out and have gaps between your holes and screws,

False. Biggest reason for glue is to lubricate the hole, sealing it up after drying is a nice perk as well. You all forgot that you need to test the bindings!
