Just picked these up from my local thrift shop, really diggin the colors on these and want more could you want? They’ve got pivots mounted up, coupla edge cracks but nothing major, no core shots or anything. Kind of pricey for me at $10 but hopefully I’ll be able to get a few good park seasons out of them. Anybody ridden these lately?? How’s the flex and do you like the side cut? Hopefully nobody tries to steal them on the hill, I’m for sure going to bring a lock. Had to cop the poles too for matching style. See you boners on the slopes!!
Serious question, could you mount up those pivots on a new pair of skis and still use them? Might need some wd40 but as far as I know they haven't really changed the design much since the original.

I don’t think I’d want to ride them, nearly 50 year old bindings don’t sound like a good idea to me or my knees
Beautiful skis OP, sounds like you got them for a steal. I hear they're a poppy, playful ski. And matching poles? Shut up. If I see you on the mountain I'm going to go hide in the ski patrol shack until the coast is clear.
While not as badass as yours, I just copped some Line Prophet 115’s in minty condition with binders for like the same as it costs to fill my truck with gas. Just had to tell somebody.

Also got me a pair of Full Tilts for like nothing. And bought some Nordica Speed 130’s last week for groomer carving, too, for hella cheap. I’m on a roll buying extra cheap stuff I don’t need. Haha
I once seen an amish kid absolutely ripping a set that looked just like that.. i still never seen anyone parallel his caliber of "nice" til this day. He appeared.. weightless
Had to update the thread for this years straight ski venture. Found these super clean PRE 1200’s with Salomon S737’s, so naturally I copped at $10.
So I went and grabbed my trusty antishinbang boots and tested for fit: it was right on the money (with a little adjusting).
As I was adjusting the other binding, I found out why these clean sticks had found their way to the DI...
The heel piece had completely blown out, rendering the binding useless. I was devastated. But I remembered that there was another pair of 1200’s with Salomon S727’s at the same DI. While not as pretty or in good shape, I figured that it would be worth the gamble.
Another $10, and now I had two pairs of 1200’s. I had a hunch that the heel piece holes would line right up, so after removing both heel pieces, my assumption was correct. I removed the heels, dabbed some glue in the holes, and screwed those new heel pieces in.
Now if your fickle mind was able to get this far, you might be drooling down your bib and thinking to yourself, “Why would you do that?”
Because I want to ski these bad boys.
”You can’t mix heel and toe pieces, and those bindings are too old to ski!”
I don’t care, I don’t have the slightest regard for my safety.
”Youre an idiot bro”
Shut up don’t care.
Like I said before, I’ll see you boners on the slopes 😎

we are all waiting for the season edit to drop for these bad boys
a_burgermight as well swap the toes too, I've heard 727's were a nice ass binding for those days
I thought about doing it, but I just don’t want the hassle of having to drill and remount. The toes have different hole placement on the 727’s. Maybe at some point I’ll do it

Took the PRE's out for a rip at Brighton on Monday, then AltaBird today.
Little old school spreader for you boners. These skis actually rip and carve really well on groomers. Not great in anything more than 2 inches of snow. Probably haven't been waxed since they left the factory, but not a big deal.
Binding transplant was a success and keep my little feetsies tight. Didn't fall (never do) So I can't report on the release-ability factor of these near 30-something year old bindings.
On a side note, when going to pick up my buddy this morning, I stopped in front of his apartment and saw these Olin Mk4's sitting outside. Of course they caught my eye, as these are the skis that started this thread. Although they are a different graphic than mine, they are still sick, and actually have Solomon S727 bindings (these are the same heel pieces that I swapped onto the PRE's that i skied). My friend said that they have been sitting there for as long as he can remember, so I may plan a midnight smash and grab for those heaters.
Stay safe out there, and ski some old skis, enough with the vishnew and onep crap these days

Those skis were probably illegally dumped by some shithead who couldn't sell them at a yard sale. Pick them up in broad daylight.
