Does the word "afterbang" refer to any steezy hand position/movement as you land, or only when they're right next to your hips?
Just do your hand thing and snap a picture. No skis required. Without pictures you are really confusing us so we really need to see what you are talking about if you want help with your afterbang
Afterbang isnt a specific action, its more being super composed even after taking a massive jump to the flats. Kind of like how in gymnastics you get points for landing and not stepping your leg out.
The more you get into freestyle skiing the more you realize its basically the same thing as gymnastics actually...
Afterbang, like all style, looks best when you make it look effortless. Hands by your side is always a pretty effortless look though as long as you really pull it off and your not trying to put lipstick on an ugly landing.
When I did my park and pipe course, I joked about landing afterbang. The instructor chewed me out for it, telling me to never afterbang. Then failed me. I quit teaching the very next day.
Perfect afterbang is when you dont even need to bend your knees upon landing. Arms along the hips completes the form.
