eheathCooking bacon in the oven is the best for the following reasons: 1. you don't get splattered in grease 2. easier to clean up 3. easier to cook moar bacon 4. cooks bacon evenly
yungonaeheat you will go down as one of the largest pussies this planet will ever see. 1. getting splattered in grease is 100% avoidable by using a cover in a pan. and even if you get a drop of grease on you its barely even painful nor is it annoying. 2. it is not easier to clean up. cleaning a small circular pan is much easier than cleaning a damn oven pan. 3. ever heard of a griddle? no? okay. 4. bacon with crunchy outsides and chewy insides will forever be better than evenly cooked chewy bacon. and that is my case

.nastyOven bacon is the only way to go. Set a timer and you don't even have to do anything, just eat when it's done.

GrandThingsI agree that pan fried is better.
But when you're tryna cook up 8 BECs for the boys its easier just to throw a pack of bacon in the oven and just worry about fluffing those eggs

FogdartI vote oven for top quality evenly cooked bacon, even better if you've got a convection oven. There's multiple ways to do it in the oven and crispness is determined by how long you cook it. Cooking in a pan on stove is easier and cleanup of the pan is 100% easier but it does splatter your kitchen with grease. If I'm really trying to have a heart attack I'll cook my eggs and potatoes in the bacon grease I just created in my cast iron pan. The key to oven bacon is to not overcook it to a crisp. It will continue cooking when you remove it from the oven, just like cookies. Also don't flip your bacon in the oven--just don't.
Thin bacon absolutely sucks to cook in a pan so that should go in the oven.
