So I saw something on a skiers story about timberline ending the summer public park so they can build for camps or something. Does anyone know any more about this? I’m desperate for more info

Whose story is that? It sounds to me like it's a camp and they're not employing a dig staff because Timberline is doing it. That doesn't necessarily mean Timberline won't have a park, it just means their park crew will be busier - which they never really did a lot anyway other than maybe a lap a day (maybe they do more now, I haven't skied summer park in about 5 years, so not judging if it's changed in recent years).

I’ve heard kinda conflicting reports from friends who are employees up there, but I do know mhssc lane is gone, and timberline staff will be digging for windells. Basically timberline is trying to put a monopoly on freestyle skiing in the summer, and since pro park has been a thing the pub park has suffered since they put the best features in there and then make you pay extra for it. I’ve heard from a few people there won’t be a public park in the summer, heard from someone that clinger not be the case. I’ll keep this thread updated when I know more, but regardless, rip mhssc park.

Thanks for the update. I know there have been false rumors about T-line discontinuing the spring pass before and all that happened was they upped the price by a bit. Public park has always been neglected and I think the pro park thing is stupid (pay extra for a park? It's already expensive enough to ski there). Is MHSSC out of business or not doing freestyle any more? They used to have the best jump line on the glacier.
As long as the spring pass exists im cool with it, however if they didnt charge up the ass for summer lift tickets id spend more time out there. Looks like the last two summers have been shit for the public park, which back in 2012 when i was at windells was better than the camps park. It ruins the fun of skiing in the summer if you have to pay $30 more a day to ski a few better rails and a jump off a rope tow, just scrap the whole pro park thing and make a solid public park with a reasonably priced season pass. Not complaining but I still don't get why in may you pay $140 for a month of the best late season conditions hood offers but come summer time you pay roughly 7x that for only another 2 months thatll eventually require hiking to and from the lifts, i get that the whole thing costs a lot to run 80% of the year but im sure the peoplen running it know that besides tourists most of their customers are bums living in their cars washing dishes.

They just posted a press release, seems pretty win-win to me. Everything stays the same except Timberline is building the parks for all the camps. I assume they will hire some new staff to help with that, so some of the camp diggers can actually make a decent wage doing that

It's not like the camps are just going to throw away their features, if anything Timberline will lease them and put there own panels on them (which means they could end up in public park)
this is dope, i see it as a total win especially for the campers. i went to mhssc for 3 summers and had a great time but definitely realized how much i was missing out on as i skied past the windells park every day. seems like mhssc's park quality is going to increase and it's sweet in general how all the camps are sharing now. only downside i see to this is having random non campers in your camp's park.

access restrictions, and it will run through the end of summer operations.
Timberline will now build and manage freestyle training parks that will be located in the traditional private camp areas (HCSC, Windells, Pro Park, MHSSC) just below midway road on palmer.
Individual guests and teams will now have the opportunity to access these parks without paying to attend a private camp program, there will be an additional access fee for this area for all guests.
The Camps, HCSC/Windells/MHSSC, will still have a summer program, their campers will now have access to and share ALL PARK ZONES with other paying guests.
Timberline will build, as we have in the past, the summer freestyle parks. The difference moving forward is that Timberline will design the parks, and maintain them during the day with our park crew.
The new parks will have 4 handle tows servicing all skill level of riders and skiers including: 22’ pipe 22’ pipe landing bag set up. Pro/expert level Jump and rails. Full intermediate level jump line, rail park, and tranny features. Comprehensive novice zone including jump, rail, and tranny features. Beginner hike zone for our newest park riders. Micro landing bag for learning anything from a first air to first freestyle tricks."
