phrases that piss you off

there are two phrases at the moment that are pissing me off whenever I hear it.
the first one is 'the exeption that proves the rule' an exeption cannot prove a rule by definition its an argument against the rule.

the second one this is a phrase from a trailer for that new Wes Craven movie the phrase says something like 'You thought a curse couldnt hurt you well you were wrong.'
a curse is suposed to hurt you its not like a muffin its a hurtful thing. if curses existed no one would beleive that they cant hurt them.

anyone have sayings or phrases that they hate?

People in Pennsylvania that can't say 'TO BE' for the life of them. Example-
'That car needs washed' instead of 'That car needs TO BE Washed' or
'That needs done', etc. How fucking stupid are you that you can't say 'to be'

One more thing- people that say irregardless. It is a double negative, bitch.

theres this commercial in vermont area about this lady that went to the army. she talks about how she 'Went from wanting to be a civilian, to wanting to be a soldier' inbetween her list of things she talks like this 'Then I get to go hooommmeee an' put on a pair of jeaaaanns an'..' she drawes out the word before and, and then says an' really fast. sounds almost spanish, like en. I don't klnow maybe it's just me, but for some reason it makes me want to punch our tv.

Oh the start of the that song by U2. They try to act like their Spanish by trying to do simple counting from 1 to 4 but say 14 instead of 4. Possibly the most fake band I have ever witnessed.

Im glad other people are on the same page as me on the napoleon dynamite thing. I saw it soon as it came out near me, and now sences its out on DVD and clips on TV eveyone is saying lines form it.

Skiierman, U2's begining was done in tribute to someone (I believe the producer of the album, it was his fourteenth album he had worked with U2 or something along those lines), it not just that the band was being dumb. Its the same type of reason Sum41 named their album Chuck (a sign of respect for UN peacekeeper that saved their lives). While I agree its a bit annoying, having found out the reason makes it much more understandable, unlike many of the other things that have been listed in this thread.
