pbssome of them are the same clips from his realski... same as the film the released last year. Good vibe though, sound/ music mixing added alot to the flow
TRVP_ANGELso many vibrations rn now my G
Upstate_WillisI really liked it. I've been looking for a different way to capture and tell a good ski story for a while now and I think Brady and Phil did and excellent job of doing this. This film was one of two films that completely blew me away at IF3. It's so different from the classic format, thank god. They have found new and excellent ways to keep their stories compelling. Using the same clips from real ski did not bother me one bit, the film gave so much perspective into each shot as an artist on both Brady and Phils ends. I simply just enjoyed the clips presented in the form of Nuance so much more than in a 90 second competitive piece. I don't think the film was suppose to be one that introduce unseen clips, I think it was suppose to tell a visual story of what they experience during the months of filming for real ski.
It's undoubtedly a artsy film, as a filmmaker myself I was fucking stoked on the vibe and what they created being outside the box.
vgod69howd y’all feel about the vibe of it? seems like the same clips

toastthis is specifically the point of it, and Dan will give a great explanation if he drops into this thread. if you go film for 1-2 months in the street, you can create a beautiful extended piece that covers the whole creative process, honoring the skiing, filming, editing, and other work that goes into the whole production. xgames real ski is limited to only 1.5 minutes, so you have to cut out basically everything besides the skiing. nuance and en particulier are the proper “full cuts” of phil’s xgames, they are how BOTH brady and phil would prefer to present their filming/skiing outside of the constraints of ESPN time limits. I believe at least ABM did the same thing this year as well, and I hope it becomes more popular because there is a massive iceberg of work and art underneath the realski you get to see midwinter.

KunderaThe one of ABM is pure gold, the best short film I watched during High Five. They really target how much they are ready to destroy themselves to get the perfect shot, a tech and stylish tricks on an original and impressive spot. It shows how absurd it becomes. I won't watch real ski segments the same way this year, totally different angle. Would love to see a behind the scene of Peyben and Mango as well.
vgod69behind the scene of the mango footage would be so sick
