You started off well in this thread, but then you took a very douchey turn.
I had my first JH experience last season, we drove up to Jackson for a 3 day weekend, on the first day we got like 2 feet of snow, hit Targhee, got pitted, skied untracked pow the entire fucking day, they even opened a gate (someone's nipple, too lazy to find out whose it was), zero lines. Coming from SLC where on a powder day the line basically starts from our front door and BC gates don't open until 3 days after the storm this was like heaven and may have been the best day of our season.
Then the next day of that trip we decided to hit JH. Waited an hour for the tram, took a lap, could not find an inch of soft snow. The whole place was just beyond tracked, I'm talking rock hard snow all over. One could not have guessed a storm had dropped 2 feet of snow less than 48 hours earlier. Sure, it was a holiday weekend, and I'm sure a local would have known a secret pow stash or two, but whatever, at this point we were just a bit disappointed.
So yeah, I don't think I'll be back skiing JH anytime soon, but I'll definitely hit Targhee next time there is a big storm up there. I value pow and no lines more than steeps/terrain (especially at that price), but that is just my personal opinion.
