X Games real ski 2020 hype/predictions

Street skiing is my favorite and I’ve spent the last 6 months day dreaming about the spots around my city. Now that the temps are dropping I can’t help but escalate my thoughts. One of the cooler things each season as far as street skiing goes is the X Games Realski video contest.

The last two years gold has been claimed by b-dog. Because first place gets an invite to return I imagine he’ll be participating again this year. I believe the fan favorite winner also gets a return invite so that mean we can expect Jake Mageau aka Mango to give it another go.

this leaves 4 spots open. Who do you guys think will get them? Will French Canadians continue to reign as the best street skiers. Will Scandinavia or an east coaster claim the top spot. All I know is it could be just bdog and mango and I’d be hyped for it.

Feel like the real ski guys are pretty in touch with who’s big in street rn (eg inviting keegan, mango not long after they got big). Based off that I feel like remco or maybe LDM could get a call. AHall would also be sick

I just have a feeling that Siver Voll will get an invite. His rail tech and quickness are fucking insane...

..but I think B-Dog will win again. I imagine he's pretty fired up to try and 3-peat....

....unless Henrik decides he wants to enter, in which case the contest is already over.

Henrik has already been in it multiple times, and has medaled at least once.. His busy contest schedule doesn’t allow him to put together the part we all know he’s capable of. Hell the entry’s he puts together are still fucking banger & would be a standout part in any movie easily.



Phil’s success shows through his dedication to his craft — Street skiing. I love that he ditched the contest scene to be solely a film skier. I kind of wish more people would do that honestly.

Bring back Clayton and Cam in there, though I doubt this will happen. I can see Alex Hackel being in it, but it's getting harder and harder to choose people that have never been in real ski.

Here's who I want.

Alex Hackel, AHall, Will Berman, D Manley, Cal Carson, Sam Zahner, Ahmet dadali (if Henrik was on 2 times Ahmet can too). I'd also like to see some compish skiers like Evan mceachran and Colby Stevenson.

All of these guys would make insane parts

I kinda wish AHall would drop comp skiing and stick to film. His parts are always insane. But he doesn usually bring a nice change to the somewhat stale comp scene

Alex Hackel is the best skier

I've also heard of this guy Chaz Bodenga, he doesn't actually film the spots he hits, he just shows up on the sesh and fucks up the spot. Last year we were hitting this big 4 kink rail on the side of a kinda busy road, and this lifted f-150 pulled into the parking lot beside the spot. Out hops chaz, and he pulls his fischer nightsticks out of the back. He didn't say anything, he just climbed up the drop in , put his skis on, drops in switch, and BOOM fat switch lip to switch the whole thing. First try no run ups. It was fucked up, and I promise this story is 100% true.

Maybe if the X-Games people are in the loop, they could invite Chaz to participate. I think maybe they could convince him to film his tricks for the chance of a medal. Anyways, X-Games, if you want to get in touch with Chaz, let me know. I think I could probably track him down.

In "Elnour" of the Bunch, last shot of Hackel's part is a complete nonsense, during the High Five the public was like "shit how the gravity could allow that".

Still salty that Mango got robbed. It was a stacked roster last year but he should have at least been somewhere on the podium imo. But at the end of the day I’m alright with the results. Everyone had amazing parts.

I am a huge fan of ABM but more so with slopestyle, I'm always rooting for him in comps. But when it comes to street skiing his style isn't what I like to see usually, with big double corks and such.

I'm usually stoked when someone sends like a massive urban double, but if you FILL a street edit with them its kinda stale IMO
All I'm saying is I don't want to see how many ways you can switch 10 off a bus terminal. I want to see variety (Personally ofc)

I would still like to see him in real ski anyway, he's a personal favorite skier of mine. Along with Ahall. Cal Carson would be sick I've been loving what hes been up to this season.

I'm expecting a win from Mango, I feel like what we saw last year was just a teaser. Although BDog's been killing it recently as well.

Its gunna be a tight competition.
