Help me find a soft / playful ski

Hi everyone,
I am 15 years old, 5‘4 and 100 pounds. I am searching for a soft / playful ski for the upcoming season. I currently have a salomon nfx which I completely hate.

I am looking for a ski that is 94mm + in width and has a length of between 160-170cm. Since I am not heavy at all I find it quite hard to butter skis in general. The best ski for me until now was a armada kids powder ski which is sadly too small for me now but was very easily butterable.

My ideas for a ski until now have been the K2 poacher 163cm, as Hugo Burvall, Kai Mahler etc. all butter it a lot so I feel like it most be pretty soft. However, I have heard people say otherwise which is why I am unsure. My next two options I have thought about have been the Faction ct 2.0 or the ct 2.0 youth. I heard the ct 2.0 is quite soft and playful and does meet my requirements. However, I don’t know wether I should get the youth version, as it might be better in terms of softness (as I am only 100lbs). The downside of the youth version, on the other hand, is that (I am not sure) probably not made with as good materials.

Do any of you have some other ideas regarding what ski I should get?

Poacher will be way too stiff for you, Haven't ridden the Factions but I'd recommend those or the line blend

Line blends.


The CT 2.0 is a good ski but it's going to feel way too stiff for you. The youth version isn't made with cheap materials, or anything less in terms of quality control (but it's still Faction lmao) so if you are going that route I'd stick with the youth model so you can get the softer flex you need.

It sounds like the J skis Allplay would be a good ski for you. Pretty soft flex and rocker in tip and tail as well as close to the width you're looking for. They would also be more durable than the Line Blend. I can agree with the others that the Poacher and CT would be much too stiff for you to butter.

Line blends or if you want a ski thats not as wide the line honey badger which would be a great ski as they are insanely flexy. Do not get the k2 poachers as they are super stiff

The problem is that they don’t make the line blend in a length that I could use. But I think the Faction ct 2.0 youth might be the best option.

Not a bad choice either, I haven't ridden them in a couple seasons and can't quite remember exactly how they ski (I've tried a lot of skis lol)... but looking at the shape and construction they would be pretty similar in flavor to the blends. IMO I like the Blend better just because it has a bigger sidewall and less tip/tail rocker meaning its going to feel a little more secure if you are skiing park on icy days. At the end of the day though they are both super buttery though so don't expect too much ;)

The blend would be a good option, as it’s easy to overpower when you’re a full grown adult but at your age and weight it would feel just right. The CT 2.0 is not a noodle luke everyone believes it to be, it’s just that the skiers riding it know how to flex their skis. Another good option to look at would be the B Dog
