NS comp idea

It seems to me, (and I guess everyone else), that content has moved to the "instabanger" side of things (Full disclaimer, I hate cellphones/instabangers, so I am pretty biased). A few short phone-shot clips, minimal editing. Personally, I like to play around with stuff thats a little longer, and has time for some tighter camerawork, and longer ski sequences. It seems that I see less and less of these, and most of these are coming from established/well known crews. Maybe I'm wrong, I really don't spend that much time scouring the depths of NS to find edits.

However, I figure that we should start a little comp series. Kinda like a mashup of Superunknown and TAFT. Anyone who wants to enter just drops an edit and maybe pays a few bucks. Members vote on edits, or we get a few judges to look things over. Maybe have a few categories (Urban, Park, Big Mountain/Freeride) Winner gets some new gear. Nothing fancy, maybe some skis or boots or shit like that. Maybe we can get companies to donate stuff for prizes, or we can just use the entry fees to cover them. Cheap, efficient, and rad. Seems like a good way to have some fun, and get some quality content out there.

I was going to wait a bit, but whatever. I want to reboot foreverunknown. Basically produce a banger old wave edit with nothing but straight airs and 50/50s. Any grab or combo goes, keep it in the park, rails ok. Winner gets 4.99$ cash as judged by @dickdeck .

this is a sick idea. We start with a small gap/jump (5ft), anyone that can post a vid proof of them doing a similar size is given +1 pt, then we increase 5/10/15/20/30/40/50 and give +1 pt for each milestone. Lastly, see who the winner is at the end with most pts.

I'd love to see more contest ideas like this. The problem that I've seen with pay to enter contest, is only people who believe they have a chance at actually winning enter. Which slims down an already small group of people. What about a online video contest where to view the entries you have to pay $1 or $5 to be able to access the page with the entries. Then it's crowd funded by the audience who immediately receives something in return for their money.

We did. There was a thread with a ton of King of the Road type challanges.

annnnnd shockingly nothing ever came of it.

If I had to recommend one it would be "Time Is Up" but they are all pretty good (i like to think so anyway, I put a lot if time into them). They are crew edits btw, I film them all and do some skiing in them too. So ya, theyre there if u want. Hope I'm not coming off in to much of a self promotional way
