Change binding, Marker Griffon to e.g. Tyrolia Attack Tourbidning

Hey guys,
I‘m thinking about changing my binding from an alpine binding to a touring binding on the pinnacle 95 (K2).
The Focus should still be on skiing down, but I would love to have the option to do a small tour. I know it will not be a pleasure, but hey.. I’m young and fit.
can you guys recommend any bindings? Will I have problems with the mounting of the new binding?

I‘m grateful for any answers or experiences about touring with the Pinnacle 95 and changing bindings.

You won't have problems changing bindings as long as the old holes are plugged properly.

Do you have tech fittings in your boots? If not than frame bindings ie: Tyrolia Ambition, Marker Duke, are your option. If you do have tech toes on your boots look at Atomic/Salomon Shift or maybe Marker Kingpin.

Could also look at daymaker touring adapters - you would be able to keep your alpine binders and boots

Alright thanks, so you guys think it will be to heavy to walk up with the pinnacle 95 plus heavy alpine boots without walking function?

It's not so much the weight that will piss you off as it's not having a walk mode that will piss you off, crush your toes, and give you blisters. People who tour in regular alpine boots do it once and then realize how much that sucks and then go buy some sort of walk mode/touring boot.

Figure out your boot first, then get bindings based on your boot.

That’s my thought as well.. I am scared of buying something and then realizing it won’t work because of blisters. But still.., I just don’t want to miss the opportunity to go on short tours.. damn it!

That's why you start with making an appointment with your boot-fitter and having him/her examine your boot options based on your foot shape, ankle flexibility, weight, budget, etc.

Always start there.

Always start there.

I do have fitted boots (complicated feet, so one customized was cheaper than buying two different pairs for left and right;)) but I don’t know how they will work with walking for hours.. at least I never got blisters from staying for a little apres Ski but touring is a different game then standing in the Schirm ;)
