If you truly love winter how could you live anywhere but summit county?

if you compare vail or park city or aspen to a summit county resort like breck or copper or a basin, by the time march rolls around, the first 3 resorts are already melting, while the summit county resorts are still in the depths of winter. Ive had it happen twice when the last weekend that resorts were open, summit county got like 2 feet of snow. I got to ski fresh powder at the end of april at copper and with the overcast sky you might have thought it was february at a place like park city. Winter just seems to last so much longer at high altitude resorts in summit county.
I wont even talk about a basin, where you can feel like your still in winter with 2 feet of fresh in june.
Driving past vail or park city or aspen in april is like wading through a muddy slushy shithole where all the snow is melting.
Altitude is the answer.

SuspiciousFishI agree, when it comes to actual skiing terrain nothing touches Alta and Snowbird. That and you actually get to drive up a real mountain road to go skiing and not take a rush hour freeway up to a covered parking garage. I miss those days of driving 35 min to the mountain.

The church sucks but regular Mormons are usually pretty chill. Its funny how down they are on dangerous/illegal activities as long as its not booze or drugs. I remember once I was bombing my Subaru 70+ Mph down a dirt road by my old house and a Mormon pulled up with a huge smile and waived at me.


So some mormon smiling at you as you drive by is supposed to make up for the fact most mormons will narc on you for smoking weed or taking some painkillers?
its not that utah sucks. Because of it beautyful mountains i would put it ahead of most other us states that are just as tough on drugs. But colorado has mountains just as beautyful as utah but without the fascist anti drug pigs and straight edge geriatric voters who want to put potsmokers in jail.
Colorado is like harm reduction in the form of a state. People who are proud of being the home of southpark tend to be about 1000 times LESS HYPOCRITICAL than law lovers in other states who think south park is some silly cartoon, because they dont want to take a long look at themselves.
I would feel more safe raising a kid in colorado than any other us state. In some law loving shithole my 18 year old might be too sheltered and ignorantly try fentanyl off the street by himself and overdose. While in colorado my kid would be surrounded by people able to guide him and make sure he does things as safely as possible if he truly has the desire to experiment with things. Most colorado raised kids ive met have the best energy ive ever seen anywhere. Having friendly warm bobby brown clones all over your state isnt a bad thing unless youre an idiot.

Im in Denver now for business and have to drive to location up in Summit County. Holy shit does I70 suck. And this was a weekday. That highway on a weekend or Friday afternoon...fuck that. I’d rather fly from Denver to SLC and ski.

InfamouslyJonesHow are you going to use Park City to compare other areas of the country... no one in UT skis PC... keep it in LCC and BCC and be done with it.

Peeps in Summit Co, Peeps in SLC, Peeps in NorCal... Ill take LCC in SLC anytime.. sure the laws suck.. but are we talking lifestyle or terrain?

The parks at Park City are better by far than Brighton, but they do seem to have a trend of downgrading and building later in the season

It really doesn't matter which Summit County is better honestly.....They're all owned by Vail and shutdown the 1st week of april regardless of snowfall.

I already have enough ski town real estate, so no thanks. And Breck would not be on my list of places to own something at.

I would highly recommend some sort of kick back from the Colorado ski county team for your on going blabber and hard on for Colorado.

I feel indebted to summit county because it has always been based and kind to the fact that the bulk of the population is getting high as fuck on one drug or another. If a dope fiend like me can feel warm and accepted then i owe it to the people with their finger on the button. Remember that breck led the entire country be legalizing weed possession. Even before california.

I like living in Summit. The tourism is good for my day job and I pay my rent playing drums in local bars. The awesome community that I have immersed my self in took me a little while to really find, but there are things other than the skiing that makes me want to stay here. Granted, there are a lot of shit heads, but if you really have a problem with that, youre spending your time with the wrong people and not taking full advantage of what this place has to offer. Parking on weekends? Yeah I could do without that, but it's far more fun here than in Connecticut where I grew up

Nice. I still dont know why so many ppl think there are alot of shitheads in summit. Like what are these people like that everybody considers summit county trash? Ive met some people in summit who have smoked so much marijuana they are like zombies, but they are still warm and friendly and are fun to interact with.

SLC and Denver are the best ski towns to live in. Plus the great thing is, there’s so many other weekend warriors who shred super hard, so it’s easy to make friends! Me and my crew ski Alta every fucking weekend and we only shred wildcat.

I think the libertarian culture in colorado especially in summit county is way superior to the uptight anti drug mormon culture in utah. The only thing slc has over denver is its closer to the resorts. Other than that colorado natives all seem to be friendly good looking kids that are almost clones of denver native bobby brown. Even when i was a kid leaving the east coast to go to colorado i remember thinking to myself “jesus, is every kid from colorado an athletic, friendly, quiet, humble as fuck republicans?“

Idk i guess colorado is more libertarian than republican. But it used to be considered a republican state. Its always been a more libertarian version of a republican state from what i understand bc of the kind of people who Historically moved to the mountains, but its probably more liberal these days with all the recent influx of potheads
Whatever colorado is, its way better than utah unless your an uptight east coast cunt parent who thinks a bunch of utah straight edge abstinent psychos are preferable to have their kids around rather than chill colorado people who (omg) are quietly smoking weed in the hot tub at 11 pm

Meh. Idk about michigan getting more snow but whatever. Most years colorado mountains get more than enough snow for a sublime winter and long lasting spring. plus injection of clinical grade marawanas is not contraindicated.

But yeah i dont think there is a cooler state than colorado. After living in summit county, living anywhere else afterwords feels like you are missing out on life. I dont know if that makes sense but yeah. Lots of interesting people and everybody is so far laid back they are almost upside down.

Yeah Mt Hood, Paradise at Ranier, Beartooth Basin, Timp at Utah, even Snowbird in bounds all are done by April, please don't ski any of those places, just ski Summit cause it holds snow all the way til September sometimes October, trust me. Everyone move to Summit.
