Has anyone ever torn their acl jumping on a rail?
I feel like this injury was coming for a long time, just weird circumstances:
-I’m 34, been skiing park for 15 years, probably should have been sticking to the small stuff, but it sucks getting better the older you get.
-I jumped onto an urban on rail (not a large, but not a small), so the impact from the jump was significant.
-I instantly felt a “rubber band” snapping sensation in my back leg. My theory is that it was just a little bit too straight and the hyperextension caused the injury.
any thoughts? It probably didn’t help that I was trying to extend the season 6+ months in July or that I’m old and skiied 60+ days a year for almost 15 seasons.
