Solo travel is truly the master race

All my mates wanna go overseas but are too afraid too go alone.... always asking if they can come with me. it's like c'mon man. Shit's easy!

Not having too work off others schedules and do whatever you want in another country is a very relaxing freedom. I'm going Japan this year, and am thinking about doing a coke trip to south america next year.

Some people prefer to travel with others. I have travelled abroad alone but it's fun to share the experience with friends sometimes. That's why winter 20 my best friend and I are planning a 3 week ski trip in japan. We travel together every year.

So I guess not having cool friends to do shit with helped me make friends to do shit with. Also it's always easy to find people to go travel around with when you're out there. And having the ability to float around.

I've still never done international travel with anyone I new. Almost went to Thailand with a friend but she bailed. Like plane ticket purchase and bailed without saying anything. Still had a killer trip though.

If your friends are chill and reliable that's dope though. Both having your own space and having people to experience things with are both important imo.

I get what you're saying. In the past I've done plenty of trips by myself and I think it helped shape me as a person because of those experiences, at the end of the day though I enjoy having my best friend around because we both are on the same page about how we travel and what we want out of the experience.

I would say if I had a bestfriend who would join me on my adventures that I would be grateful. However I do not.

I have many bestfriends in other spheres of life though.

Went solo to Amsterdam, France, and Belgium its definitely one of the most liberating and self esteem boosting experiences to have. I would not say it’s easy your first time. It can be very daunting and stressful. When you come back and look at everything you did and people you met you feel like a different person for overcoming such a huge obstacle. If someone has the opportunity they should solo trip it. After I’d say they should also take the opportunity to travel with someone who has done the same and understands the flow of international travel. It’s a beautiful place out there and sometimes with a friend it will be more valuable to remanence on those times. I don’t think I’d ever take someone who has never experienced international travel because you’ll just be fighting and shit when you want a rest day and they feel so compelled to not waste a single moment that doing something alone becomes upsetting to them. Things like that can cause for unpleasant trips. I wouldn’t say solo is the only way to go and groups aren’t either I think each have their pluses and minuses. I do think most new travelers will always try to form groups to go with and they would prefer to never be alone and that’s something they’re really missing out on.

Traveling solo is the bomb but also traveling with a friend/partner is just as much or better IMO. Depends on where you go, what your plan is, skiing, site seeing etc. Just go travel, do it often, go with friends, go alone, either way, go see the world!

Haven't done much traveling with groups but I do have a buddy that I usually go on a ski trip with once a year. We honestly don't even hang out that much despite knowing each other in college for 3 years, but when it comes to traveling we always seem to be on the same page with what we want to do and it works out great. I do enjoy making some solo trips though, got sent to Knoxville for work for a week and pretty much went straight up to the smokey mountains after work each day to explore. It was an awesome time.

I've traveled solo and I've traveled with friends or a partner. Both are awesome and have their drawbacks in their respective ways. I wouldn't want to travel with more than a few people though.

Hooked up with a guy that has a house down at the beach this season. He wanted me to come stay at his house.

Now I'm spending a week across the street from the beach with no houses in between getying to explore some new coast.

If I had another person with me Id probably have rented a car and done a camping adventure, but I would have been hemorrhaging $$.


I think it's easier ro take it as it goes traveling solo. I'm also pretty random and don't plan things. I wouldn't mind somebody that plans to things a little more than me, but couldn't deal with the "everything needs to be planned out" types of folks.

I have a friend I met in Norway a few years ago that was on a 1 year holiday. Planned the whole thing. Like the whole thing. Even had flights book and hotels/hostels i think. He met some girl in italy at one point and missed a few flights. Idk I could never do a trip with an itinerary that strict.

I make some plans along the way but I like loose plans. You never know when somebody's going to tell you about some awesome hike or beach, or run into random friends about to jet out on a big scooter ride or whatever.

My version of travel might be kinda fucked but I think you have to leave at least a little breathing room. Imo
