Best backpack around 30 to 36 L

I need a new touring bag around 32L and need your info. I was looking at the Dakine poacher because I always like the Dakine quality, but I don’t see them a lot on the mountains. What are your favorite bag? and if you have the poacher is their something you don’t like about the bag?

Dakine's bags, relative to many of the other manufacturers out there, are pretty crap. Sure they've got patterned fabric and look slick, but I've never seen one hold up nearly as long as, say, an Osprey. And I used a Poacher for three years.

What are you looking to use your pack for? I ask because short days of yoyo resort laps don't place many demands on a pack, but touring all day and carrying your skis frequently does.

It will be for the 1 day touring trip. The last 2 years I was using an old helipro from like 10 years ago probably around 25L. I was able to fit the essentiel, but since we are getting more and more involve in touring every year, it’s time to retire that bag and get a bigger one. I was looking at Dakine, because I never had problem with my old bag, but the osprey kamber seem to have the same functionality. If you tell me osprey have better quality, for sure I will check those.

Nice! That's awesome you're getting more and more into it.

The Kamber is fine, but personally I'd prefer the BD Cirque 35 if I was buying a bag right now. Simple, comfy, plenty of features, but with none of the extra garbage.

I absolutely love my Gregory Targhee 32, it's well designed for skiing and carries very well when loaded up. I don't even notice it when shredding, it's obvious that they put lots of thought into the pack. Much, much better than any of the many Dakine bags I've used in the past.

Im a big fan of my patagonia snowdrifter. My only issue is it lacks one of those helmet straps, and cant fit a super long probe. The best part about the bag that I would recommend looking for is getting a bag with back panel entry. The snow drifter opens almost like a duffle from the back and is unreal for accessing things deeper in the bag. I really miss that feature on my airbag.

Check out the G3 Cabrio pack.
Its simple, comfy, all the features you want for carrying shit, has hip belt pockets, etc. and best of all is airbag compatible.
You can buy it without the airbag and its still a kick ass pack. Plus, you can maybe buy an airbag later on if thats where you're heading.

thule upslope 35L. Has a pocket designed to fit skins that you can reach without taking the pack off.
