New Bdog's sizing 172

FWIW, the 180 BDOG measures around 178 cm, and it has a much shorter effective edge than most comparable skis cause of how deep its rocker lines are and how much taper it has. It's also very soft, so all of that makes it feels fairly short for how long it actually is.

What skis in which lengths have you liked in the past?

I'm 5'7" 155 and had the 176 BDogs. Felt a little short with the rocker and the ridiculously short turn radius. Ik people tend to size up for pow skis, but I ride 185 JJ's and feel comfortable going fast and hard. Trying out the 183 Wet +'s this year.

Yep, we've got a number of Gear 101 articles planned for this fall / early winter, and that'll be a good one to add.

And I need to do a better job of catching myself saying things on here like "measures short" cause companies that measure length post-pressing are definitely the minority, so just saying a ski measures short via a straight tape isn't always that useful, since most skis will measure "short" if measured it that way.

i.e., OP, the BDOG does feel short, but the flex, taper, and rocker play much more of a role in making the BDOG feel shorter than it is, rather than the measured length.
