Yes thats right, it is finally happening. The House has started impeachment proceedings for Donald Trump, is he going to get impeached? Idk what will happen tbh. What I do know is that NS forums has lots of well thought out, educated, political discourse and i'm excited to hear what everyone thinks.

They are definitely stored and classified, but not to the extent of this. From everything that has been reported, they're normally stored on a secure system that is much more easily accessible.

It very well could just be bad optics for the Trump WH (which would surprise nobody) but the problem is there's now a pattern of this WH engaging in actions to hide certain conversations by the POTUS.

There was this a year or so ago
President Donald Trump went to "extraordinary lengths" to keep details from his conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin secret – even from officials within his own administration, The Washington Post reported this weekend, citing unnamed sources.

After meeting with Putin at the 2017 Group of 20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, Trump took his interpreter's notes and told him not to discuss the meeting with anyone, including other U.S. officials, the Post reported.


And now we've got this.

So the trust with this WH has utterly eroded for a lot of people who may have been willing to give them the benefit of the doubt after some false allegations earlier in the administration.

I have no idea of these allegations by the WB are true beyond certain content from the Ukraine call and the storing of these transcripts. If there are other cases of Trump trying to leverage foreign leaders for personal gain via US political actions, then he needs to be impeached. If there are none, then his WH needs to change how they handle these transcripts and he needs to make sure he's careful which how he talks to these other leaders.

Every single thing the "whistleblower" had to say was 2nd or 3rd hand information.

Our current president never held any previous public office before becoming president, was a draft dodger, most known for in the States for a reality business tv show and ran a beauty pageant where where he would walk into female contestants changing room for “inspections”.

But i guess expanding Medicare, trying to stop mass shootings, figure ways to help student debt, and eliminate American concentration camps is pretty controversial.

That happened, its part of Trump's buried conversations while in office. But yeah, I'm sure the unprecedented use of a high level classified server that less than 12 people knew existed to store Trump's conversations with world leaders is not suspicious at all. I'm sure having a world leader contact his personal lawyer, with zero connection to the State Dept. and the White House, to investigate a political rival of Trump's is not suspicious at all. Like it must be a total coincidence Trump now shows interest in Ukraine's corruption months before an election year and only discussed looking into the current best polling Democrat presidential candidate, Joe Biden and his son. I bet this is only a coincidence, but Trump froze $391 million in defense aid appointed by Congress to be given to the Ukraine a week before Trump's call and without giving a credible reason as to why. I mean its not like the Ukraine is currently fighting off a Russian-supported invasion that annexed a portion of their country....

Thank god impeachment proceedings prevent any obstruction Trump normally does in the 20+ state level and federal level investigations that are currently going on. You are the best example of an uninformed, fucking moron that embarrasses our country on a regular basis.

Also, it didn't happen a month ago, according to a report from The Federalist (quite an unbiased site and reputable I must add, /s), the rule change was made sometime between May 2018 and August 2019

Secondly, stop with the hypotheticals.

There's a massive difference between what you're proposing vs. what actually happened.

First, the ICIG verified there was a reason for the complaint. The ICIG found it credible DESPITE potential political bias.

Secondly, the government hasn't ground to a halt. It's running per normal.

Thirdly, if it does grind to a halt because Trump did something stupid and potentially illegal, that's his fault, not the Democrats.

Finally, if he tried to enrich himself as president/curry PERSONAL favors through political means, that's illegal. It's not a coup to remove a president who does that. It's the way the fucking law works.

You talk about critical thinking yet it's clear you're incapable of doing so yourself.

I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I think you're wasting your time trying to have an honest intellectual exchange with this particular individual. It's pretty clear data and facts are mere "opinions" to him, he does not appear to understand the mathematical rules (i.e. science) and logic that govern our universe.

I would follow your own advice from earlier: "Anyone who calls Trump supporters the silent majority should be ignored.", and simply ignore him. I love a good debate, but some people are worth debating with, and some people simply aren't.

Yeah i would consider bernie and jill stein pretty controversial and not a winning candidate, I dont think they are good candidates to win over the popular vote outside of the coasts and the northern midwest.

I don't think so. Trump's approach is fairly simple: everything great that happens in the world is because of him, if it's good, he will take credit for it. Every failure, problem or mistake is never his fault, it's someone else who fucked up: democrats preventing him from achieving his great agenda, someone on his staff is incompetent, etc.

And his supporters eat it up. It doesn't matter that he couldn't deliver on all of his promises, it's never his fault, so they'll keep supporting him. The man lies constantly in a world where within 5 minutes we have factual proof available to know that he lied, and yet people keep supporting him and believe what he says, his supporters are not rational, they're cult followers.

Something I never quite understood is how someone can stand by 100% of the things a politician says. Politicians have opinions about absolutely everything, and the odds of one's own opinions being 100% aligned with someone else's are actually incredibly slim. So, to me, that behavior is a sign of someone not exercising proper critical thinking, and therefore I'd categorize such a person as a cult follower more than a political supporter.

SendyMcSendyfaceDitching the 2 party system won't change much, but its a start. Up in Canada, its kinda fucked because we have 1 right wingish party (2nd one is practically irrelevant, RIP Mad Max), and 3 left wingish parties. In this coming election, all the conservatives will vote for the CPC, and the leftish votes will be split between 3 parties. It would be better if there were 2 more conservative parties to balance it out, the CPC is gonna (unfortunately) win. While having more than 2 parties does mean things like happen, I believe that we should have the right to vote for exactly who we want, instead of voting for someone we don't really like, just to prevent someone worse from being elected. If your beliefs match up with a 3d party candidate, vote for them. #vermin2020
