He isn't popular. There's zero data out there supporting this claim. In terms of straight up popularity he lost. He won off a few hundred thousand votes in swing states.

1. It's a memo, it's not the official transcript. There is no official transcript given that there are no recordings of telephone calls between heads of states. That means this is put together by the trustworthy people within Trump's administration. You only need to read the CAUTION on the first page of the memo to understand this.

2. Trump had withheld the aid prior to this phone call. Therefore, the statement by Zelenskyy involving Javelins followed by Trump literally saying "I would like you to do us a favor though..." is akin to a smoking gun. There would be no need to bring up a favor before addressing that kind of request.

3. Trump had no legal right to withhold the aid without the consent of Congress given that it was part of the Congressional appropriations. So again, why withhold it? His reasons have changed.

4. There is zero reason for Rudy Giuliani, the POTUS' personal attorney, to be engaging with a foreign head of state regarding an investigation of a US citizen, let alone a political opponent. There's ZERO excuse for this. If Trump truly wanted a proper investigation (which he is legally allowed to do, no matter how stupid it would be), he would go through official governmental channels.

5.It's clear that Giuliani had already been in contact with Zelenskyy for unknown reasons. Again, why? He is not a US governmental official.

Up in Canada, its kinda fucked because we have 1 right wingish party (2nd one is practically irrelevant, RIP Mad Max), and 3 left wingish parties. In this coming election, all the conservatives will vote for the CPC, and the leftish votes will be split between 3 parties. It would be better if there were 2 more conservative parties to balance it out, the CPC is gonna (unfortunately) win. While having more than 2 parties does mean things like happen, I believe that we should have the right to vote for exactly who we want, instead of voting for someone we don't really like, just to prevent someone worse from being elected. His average is 39%. Before Trump the lowest average approval rating held by a president was Gerald Ford at 47%.

Dustin.Barring any opinions on the content of the phone calls (which is worth some attention for sure), I don't think this server story is relevant. It's a media ploy to compare him to Hillary's extremely illegal and deliberate mishandling of classified information.

Hillary was "given shit" because she had someone install a server at her home and put classified information on it on purpose such that she could do work at home. That is not the same as this Trump example, as he's (and I say he but it's people who work there and click and manage the network) utilizing systems designed for this storage at the White House from what I can gather. It's like putting your milk in your beer fridge, maybe unusual to some but not illegal or honestly worth more than a shrug of the shoulders if you actually know how it works day to day. Hillary infuriated those of us who worked with classified information every day, because had I done that with the information I work with....I would no longer fly fighters, have a job, and if the information was of the highest classifications I think the Air Force would have put in tremendous effort to send me to prison for at least a year. That behavior is borderline treasonous because you KNOW that moving that information to a place where someone uncleared can access it is practically as good as posting it on Facebook and tagging your favorite Chinese government cyber employee. It was a blatant act and she obviously wasn't worried about ever feeling the repercussions, because time in prison isn't worth it to any sane person so that you can diddle on your email at home.

(a) In no case shall information be classified, continue to be maintained as classified, or fail to be declassified in order to: (1) conceal violations of law, inefficiency, or administrative error; (2) prevent embarrassment to a person, organization, or agency; (3) restrain competition; or (4) prevent or delay the release of information that does not require protection in the interest of the national security.

Is it comparable in terms of potential damage if that server was hacked? Well, yeah. If not worse.


That being said, it's not likely to be hacked given this kind of security.

The problem is, why the fuck would these things ever belong on that server? Unless he's actively having chats with other heads of state where he is divulging classified information there's zero reason for those documents to EVER end up on that server.

The current WH excuse of doing since 2017 due to other transcript leaks is piss-poor. These chats he's having are unlikely to have any top secret information divulged given that the majority of these are listened into by administration staff, WH officials, etc.
