Broke up with my girlfriend who I had been dating for 5.5 years. Just realized that we wanted differwnt things for ourselves. AMA or give advice for post breakup. I dont plan on dating for a while as I want to figure my shit out before entering another relationship.

Idk, I dated/engaged a girl for 5 years. We actually called off our wedding just 2 weeks before.
It sucks, but if it just wasn’t right it just wasn’t right. Unless you got nothing better to do in life, just be patient, see other people, etc. Get on some dates with zero expectations, just have fun and use it as a chance to get to know some girls but more importantly getting to know yourself/what you want. Be silly, stupid, make girls finish a date being like *wtf??* lol just don’t be thirsty or desperate cuz if you are they will sense it, not be interested and your confidence will be even lower after the date than when you started.
That’s what I thought I was doing, until the second girl I dated post break up (on my first of what I thought would be tons of Okcupid dates) got her claws in me quick. She’s a far better match than my ex was.

take it as experience, you have better perspective now

And don’t forget to use the DENNIS system!

Honestly I checked out of the relationship emotionally a long time ago. My biggest problem atm is what I do with my freetime now. Which just means more skiing!

Dude, I feel you too much on this. I'm sitting at home watching forged in fire drinking beer. It's nice, but it would be nicer with my ex. Biggest thing is to spend time with other people, it helps take the sting and shock off of losing your companion

Rebounds, drugs and general hedonistic pursuits can help if you are a soulless degenerate like me!

If not I reccomend picking up some hobbies like mountain biking, make some personal goals and get cash, travel etc all with the intent of taking your mind off the sting and channeling your energy positively

I have a beard.... I'm not sure a moustache would be superior. Maybe less icicles on a pow day.

I am picturing a clean shaven upper lip with a full beard right now. (:

I have just the 'stache and shave the rest of my face clean. Really just a personal preference so who am I to talk.

Whatever you do I suggest going big this winter. Grow it as big as possible before the first snow and then just keep on rolling with it. The bigger the icicles grown on a snow day the better.
