Replying to Ski ability plus gear

I feel like with some skis you need to have a certain level of experience to use them. For example, I've heard people dont like you if you vishnus when you can only jib boxes. Is this a thing or no? Like as a social thing. Obviously you can physically use vishnus on boxes.
