Learning boxes/rails in 2 days

do you reckon i could learn rails and boxes in 2 days, i have about 30 days on skis in total

also it is a shitty resort so i will be in the park the whole day

I too a park lesson to learn rails
i did it on rentals, but actually slid the entire rail
the second time i tried i broke my arm lmao

go talk to some people who are skiing in the park and are pretty good
if they are chill they will give u some pointers and maybe lap with u for the day
it will help you 100% if you ski with people
maybe its no friend on a pow day but
friend on a park day is what you want

As someone who "learned" rails last year here is my advice

Try it on a tube first if there is one, a fat one low to the ground, or a mailbox tube, that was perfect
Your first instinct will be to lean back when you go sideways, don't!!!!!!
Put weight on your front foot, the feeling is different from a hockey stop.
Keep your stance a little wider than usual and make sure you pop up onto the rail. Try to land right at 90 degrees

The first two times I tried it I tacoed, so wear a helmet but know you'll be okay

Skateboard in the off season, the balance point is super similar. Then spend all day hiking a box, then when you can do that every try spend all day hiking a rail. You'll probably slip out a few times at first but it won't hurt that bad, just keep hiking it and by the end of the day you'll have it dialed easily

yeah tube in the snow seems pretty fail safe, i wear helmet and shell so it's not too bad if i fall

fs start with a very wide box or tube that are "ski on" then slowly move down to the skinnier tubes and boxes and dont move on to actual rails until you are comfortable with jump landing onto the skinny box/tube

Oh you'll hit the tube too when you fall. Its just gonna happen. Ive proved it possible last season on my first tube attempts. I was going way too slow. Thankfully they didnt hurt. It was just a little embarrassing. Get ready for lots of falls. It just comes with the sport. Dont be self concious about falling in front of other people
