Replying to When did coffee shops become so hipster?

Am I missing something? Has it always been this way but rather in various forms other than Apple loving hipsters?

When did coffee shops change from somewhere you go to read the paper, get coffee and breakfast, and have a fucking conversation? Now they're literally places where 90% of people are slouched over their illumated MacBook for hours on end working on various projects, browsing Facebook, or taking selfies for the gram.

I went into a coffee shop today and this was picture perfect hipster vibe. Literally every single fucking person was sitting by themselves, effectively taking up two seats at a table, pouring over their MacBooks. It felt like I stumbled into an artists' lair. I shoulda taken a photo because it was priceless yet astounding. Maybe I've never noticed it this bad, but fuck man wtf has happened?
