Anybody ever worked at Alta or Snowbird??

Ive skied Alta my whole life and I love Utah, especially little cottonwood. Its been a dream of mine to be a ski bum for a season or 2 but to be honest boys im not sure if its the right move. Im just wondering what its like, different jobs, where to sleep, how much you ski, etc. Even if you lived the ski bum life at any other resort it'd help

My friend is about to work and live at the A lodge at alta working like 6-9am a few days a week and skiing the rest, might consider doing it next winter.

5+ of my friends have worked and lived at Goldminers daughter.

I've heard nothing but good things from all of them.

OP if you have skied at Alta your whole life and you finally have an opportunity to ski bum for the season why not ski somewhere else??

I get family aspect but sometimes you gotta fly the coop.

Most major ski resorts in Colorado have housing options for full time employees. Hell any major ski resorts in North America offer housing to full time employees. But there lies the problem, the more you work the less you ski.

Ive spent winters 2010-2018 in the Aspen ski area, all 8 seasons working full time, getting employee housing because I couldn’t afford regular housing in the area.
If you want more details on the Colorado ski scene PM me for information.

But if I had family living close (I consider living 30 minutes within a chairlift from your household close) any major ski mountain I would consider it working there.
