I firmly believe this. if you can not grab a trick that's usually grabbed and still make it look good, that's way cooler than grabbing the trick. discuss

I agree with this. Much better to keep your composure and style instead of that little touch ski half grab that makes you look like a Jerry.

Good point op. Grabs are the easier way to make a trick have good style. If you can make a trick look lazy and effortless without a grab thats pretty cool.

I think it depends on the trick too. For example a rodeo 5 I think needs a grab whereas a Cork 5 no grab is gang. I really like seeing nice shifties instead of grabs too

I would say some spins just need a grab to position the skis in a way that makes a spin identifiable... for example the classic cork sev blunt becomes a very different trick (to watch) if the skis are in neutral postion instead of crossed or tucked back IMO

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like snowboarders make no grabs look super cool (generally). Watching my friends throw 3's and 5's on boards with no grab always seems to look better than me or my other skier friends throwing them with no grab.

Max actually drips style. It’s insane, his skiing is straight up artful. Not to mention that his edits and clips are super tasteful, great choices in filming style and music choice. Love this dude

I think this thread has some good points, like ppl can make ungrabbed stuff look super nice, but grabs definitely make stuff cooler at least harder. Certain grabs add new torque and difficulty to tricks, so I wouldn't say no grab is cooler necessarily

i prefer to stand as tall as i can when spinning and using my arms to flap through the air sort of like a bird/person falling off a ledge. That really is, in my opinion, the essence of style. If you can lock your knees even better, makes a 1080 look mint.
