well i have no idea if you will even be able to tell from this but here it goes:
i did a small 15 ft (*approx) clif and one ski stayed on and the other came off and i did a summer-sault and a half. the foot who's boot came out is perfectly fine. the other one, i re-hurt my ankle that was injured and never really healed (has a pop to it sometimes). the landing was what i might say way too soft, and when i landed i jsut made a big hole. my firend watching me first said it looked like my tips were too far down, but later took it back. i wasnt going that fast off it, but the landing had a decent slope to it.
does it sound like my ski should have came off or not? i basically slammed straight foward on my ski, as far as i can tell atleast.

and my ankle didnt hurt nearly enough for me not to go skiing the next day. the only time it hurt all day was when a slammed a mogule really hard intentionally.

Had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago, except my ski ended up not poping off and i fucked up a few tendons in my ankle, so im guessing its not a bad thing for it to have poped off no matter your din setting.

from the sound of it it seems like the ski just came off from landing akward. i have done the same thing.

Generally if you're cartwheeling you want your skis to come off, although in powder i'd prefer mine stay on. i'm 190 and ride with a din of 10, it depends on you ability level, there's no reason to have you din set too high if you're not skiing stuff that is imperative to keeping your skis on.

i can ski any steepness or wheverthefuck you want to call it. i kinda suck at newschool and jumps and stuff though, so i dont want to get hurt learning that shit with a too high din setting.

I'd only turn it up if your skis are falling off on stuff you would normally ski away from.
