Did anyone raid the rich people area Mad Max style like that one year? That was classic.

Too much hype but I'd consider going just to go once and since I know a ton of people that go including my roommate.

That said I'm hoping not to do a summer for a long time.

@SuspiciousFish - the entire place is non-stop Mad Max haha but i don't there were any "raids" this year lol that shit sounds hilarious. i did see some dude trolling the rich people party on the 747. he brought his own projector and started playing Oregon Trail on the side of the 747 in the middle of their party. they stormed out super pissed and complained saying "Oregon Trail is a safety hazard". but i think the dude made it to the Missouri River before they shut him down, so props to him

@198694517571 dude that video is spot on. a few of my best friends went last year and they came back exactly like that and now they are no longer my best friends. this was my first time going and i went begrudgingly bc those same friends that started sucking that Burning Man D after last year had begged me to go. luckily i brought at least one other sane person with me. most of the people i met and the friends i made out there were just good 'ol normal people. but whenever there were pretentious hippies around we'd just bounce and do our own thing. i'd definitely go back but with the right crew of real people that just like to have fun and party.

@*ninja* and @theabortionator - i'd say definitely go. it's the biggest, most mind-blowing and insanely fucked party in the world, second only to the Level 1 Denver World Premiere. go with at least one absolute best friend and you'll have an amazing time

Seems like it went the route if coachella at least to some extent being more about being there than being there. Wish I made a coachella before 2010 ish.

Idk it's something different but the only fests I really go to these days are summercamp and wwondergrass in the spring.

I'm sorta over fests but could do a year. If i still feel like it the next time Im in the states for summer, which hopefully is many years away.

This is why if I had to spend a few days in the desert I would much rather go to Wasteland Weekend than Burning Man. Id rather be around crazy rigged out cars and watch some beyond thunderdome shit than be around generic EDM, pretentious hippies and celebrities.

Or, if you want to get your mind blown in the desert you can just go to Vegas—take some psychedelics, see a show. And if you decide you’ve seen enough of the ugly side of society after a night—you can leave the very next day, not be tied down at all. Or you can get out and see Hoover Dam, Red Rocks, A51, or spend a couple hundred to dace a R8 or GTR around a track..

I know, clearly I’m not the burning man type. My wife’s friends invited us and it was a strong hell no—festival is a week I think, plus the days of travel and prep. You could go to Asia or Europe in the same period of time. Also they mentioned a tent where couples can have sex with eachother—that was definitely a “wtf??” Monent

Festivals are boonk now, all the same music, a bunch of stds flying around, way to expensive because all they want is money, and overblown with pretentious bitches who think they're important to the world.

There are the few that still hold true values and are all about the spirit of bringing people together and celebrating happiness, but a lot of the festivals I grew up going to and working at have began to sell out to corporate companies and are now just looking to turn a profit, rather than doing it for the people.

Have you been to the Gorge in Washington? I've been to Watershed 3 times (country music) and Paradiso(EDM). Some of the best memories I have are from these festivals. I agree that it's corporate companies putting on these festivals. However, there are so many liabilities and they have so many resources and so much money that they are probably the only ones able to put on these massive festivals with thousands and thousands of people.

The Gorge is such a dope venue. I have heard there are some crazy underground festivals out in Eastern WA and Alberta too.

I think they are thinking of the 'Mainstream' ones like Global and Ultra etc.
