i use flip HKD abec 5 and abec 7 beaings on both my board and skates. They roll fantastically well, especially on my blades bc i can tighten the bolts down and they still spin great. Alot of bearings suck on blades and dont spin well.
Back to the point, i just ordered some bones super swiss for 60 bucks on amazon. Are they worth the money? What are your fav bearings for skating ns...
I’m a big Bronson guy but honestly 90% of bearings are all the same unless you’re trying to go crazy fast and get some Swiss ceramics or something along those lines

I read some article by some guy who knew alot of the inside knowledge about bearings and he said regular bones (metal balls) super swiss 6 were the best. They were 60 bucks but assuming i can keep them in good
shape maybe they will be worth it. I heard good things about cageless bronsons too.
nothing other than bones reds will ever be worth the price to me anymore. if you just buy a $10 bottle of speed cream (will last like 5 years) and pay attention to which bearings get slow you like dont need to buy bearings anymore. theyre maybe $40 for a set of 16 and hold up better than any other bearing ive ridden

Youre talking about on a skateboard right?
i tried reds on my blades and they wouldnt spin for shit unless you left the nuts loose and didnt crank them down.
So far flip hkds are the only bearings ive used on blades that spin freely when you tighten down the nuts.
nope. I always skate flat or rockered I've never had anything even close to a problem with reds. if your wheels don't spin when your axles are cranked it's a problem with your frames, frame spacers or bearing spacers

I have always been a fan of Bones Reds back when I used to longboard a lot. I remember one time we ran into a guy that had bones ceramic on a downhill board and he let us try it out. It was almost spooky how far that thing would glide with a single push. Not really worth the price at the end of the day though.

Bones Redz downhill bearings. when i cycle through longboards i always get redz, flawless everytime

Thats weird. Reds on my blades would only spin if i left the bolts a little loose. And i had all the proper bearing spacers inside. Very few skate bearings worked on my valos or rb morales.
Im pretty sure there was nothing wrong with my bearing spacers so im perplexed by how you had no issues
Dunderflipshrug emoji. I've had reds in both valo stock frames and RB blnk frames no problems
Hmm. Oh well. I mustve had some lemons or maybe bad bearing spacers? Who knows.
I believe you tho. I just dont get why my blades didnt work with anything besides flip hkds

if you clean them they will last forever unless they blow out
even just throwing bones speed cream on them while theyre on the truck will keep em in decent shape
I just put zealous Bearings in my new wheels today and they are really smooth. If you dont know about zealous they make the inner race stick out so 2 bearings come together in the center of the wheel and therefore you dont need spacers. You also dont need speed rings either because the inner race sticks out a little bit on the flat side of the bearing.
they dont freespin that long but freespin means very little. Riding them in the street they are very smooth and low resistance. Their goodness is almost intangible for some reason; they just simply feel good to skate on. I would recommend them to anybody.

I really cant recommend this bearing enough. They get faster every time i go put skating. they are marketed as such, but its no bs. Whether its the built in spacers or the hole filling lubricant plugging microdefects in the raceways so they get faster with age and never need cleaning idk.
they are consistently smooth, and when you turn or land a trick They dont lock up like alot of bearings seem to do.
Just try them. They are like 15 bucks, if you dont like them you can come flame me on ns.
