austinsalzillo89Has anyone used the Flylow Higgins and have any opinions about it? I’m interested in it but obviously won’t get it if it’s garbage or if it’s not good for freestyle. Please let me know, thanks
mystery3I thought about getting one...you looking at steepandcheap.com at $150? I don't think Flylow makes any garbage gear, it's not viritka or saga, but I can't offer any first-hand experience.
patagonialukeIt's a very solid jacket. It's not the most durable nor the most breathable, but it offers a really nice combo of both. Great 50/50 jacket if you like to ski in the resort and tour a bit, or if you just appreciate a fairly light, breathable shell.
austinsalzillo89Thanks, is it good for freestyle? I see it’s stretchy and let’s you move around a lot
patagonialukeI think the fit and stretch in the fabric are great for that, the only thing to consider is durability. Flylow's stuff is all solid and their quality is excellent, but the Higgins' fabric is pretty thin. I'd so it's no more or less durable than most other 3L jackets, but if you're crashing a lot, that's just something to consider. If you can find it at a good price though, I think it's worth a try.
skeirmanI've only had the quantum pro which is super burly. Been beating it for several seasons. The inner pockets are MASSIVE and zippered. Best I have ever seen.
Problem with flylow, at least on the quantum pro, is the zippers. The main zipper on my jacket has blown up twice. I had it fixed by flylow both times, but the warranty on the zippers is only 1 year, and the process is a real hassle.
Gnar_Shralp406It's a very solid jacket. The outer fabric is nice and soft so it moves really nice.
