Replying to Help me plan a ski trip
Every year I try to do at least one decently large ski trip in addition to smaller ones. I like to broaden my experiences by going to at least a new place every year. Want to hit up some new resorts this year while also revisiting some I've been before. Sticking to the USA, but possibly/likely doing a Canada trip the following year.
Here's my current plan:
Fly to Boise and visit my friend there and ski bogus basin. Then travel to sun valley for a bit. Then big sky. Then targhee/Jackson to finish it out and fly home. Of those 5, only been to targhee. Also is snow king worth a day?
Obviously rental cars will suck since not same location pickup and return. They're not the cheapest airports. Could always add slc to the mix, nix boise, and do a round trip but that sounds like a fuck ton of driving on top of a fuck ton of driving. Plus I've been to slc and skied all those places and while I really want to return, I'd like to venture to other places.
Anyone got any better suggestions? Or additions along the way? Strickly west coast only.
Also fyi: Lightly considering an epic pass as they just bought up peak resorts and that would cover some tickets in VT and allow me to venture to places I wouldn't regularly spend $ at out west. If, and that's a strong if, Alterra buys Jay Peak, I'd be getting that IKON pass cuz it has VT access as well as WV and good west places. Looping a pass into this trip somehow could be cost saving.
