π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦The Amazon is burning!!!!π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦
Funny to see people and brands freaking out over this. Yeah, the deforestation needs to slow the fuck down but this is 100% recreational outrage and feel-good marketing. Farmers set their fields on fire every year. Nothing new.
the burning in a incentive for future capital. Brazil is corrupt as it is, but the farmers need a source of income, the only way is to make more room physically. Not to mention there's been a 3 year long legal battle in court to negotiate ancestral claimed land. Texaco and Chevron have been producing oil in the Amazon since the 60's, I'd reckon that the lobbyists are faring for the corporate side. Guess what is Brazil's 3rd most productive export? Crude Petroleum/Natural gas and the second most exported resource is Iron and the number 1 export in Brazil is Soybeans, look at the ingredients in your food, you'll notice more often than not, soy based ingredients, flour and oil. Now that the Amazon is ablaze, this seem to paint a negligible, "clearer" picture. Im still convinced that the public doesn't know half the real truth of whats really going on here.
